I forgot to do NBA second round playoff picks. Does anyone really care?

This guy is actually getting serious minutes in the playoffs.  That basically sums up the 2009 playoffs for you.

So I forgot to make my second round NBA Playoff predictions.  The big question: who cares?  The first couple games have been blowouts.  The Magic are kicking the crap out of the Celtics right now, who are just unbelievably average without Kevin Garnett.  We know the Finals, I'm not watching until then.

So what happened in the NHL tonight?  Well, nothing too big, its not like the league's two biggest stars didn't each have hat tricks playing against each other in a playoff series or anything.  Oh wait, that actually happened.  Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin each had a hat trick in a 4-3 Washington Capitals victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Note: I just turned on the Celtics game again, and now all of the sudden they are staging a great comeback, just scored 5 points in the last 3 seconds, and are all of the sudden only down by 10 with 10 minutes remaining.  Great.  Anyways, the Celtics are still pretty much just above average with KG.  This doesn't change anything, the NBA playoffs still pale in comparison to the NHL playoffs.

The Stanley Cup Playoffs are just awesome.  Every game is so intense.  I can't describe how much better it is than the NBA Playoffs.  I don't want to see the Houston Rockets or Dallas Mavericks.  I don't want to see the Hawks.  But I don't mind watching the Carolina Hurricanes in the NHL face the Boston Bruins, or the Anaheim Ducks.  Why?  Because these teams actually have a chance to win it all.  In the NBA, there is no way the Rockets win it all.  And if they do, then it will be a boring Finals, so no one wants to see it anyways.

If we get our chance to see a Cavs-Lakers Finals, then we could be in for a great early June.  We will get to see a great NHL Finals, with most likely Boston or Washington against possibly Detroit or an exciting Chicago team.  And then the NBA Finals will be a fantastic battle between Kobe Bryant and 2008-2009 MVP LeBron James.  The NBA is just awful right now.  These are the most uninteresting playoffs I can remember in years.  Until the finals that is.

So here are some belated playoff picks, I am not even considering those first games.  I can't even analyze the games for you, that's how little I know/care about the NBA this year.  So here it is.

EASTERN CONFERENCE

Orlando Magic over Boston Celtics in 6 games

Cleveland Cavaliers over Atlanta Hawks in 5 games

WESTERN CONFERENCE

Denver Nuggets over Dallas Mavericks in 7 games

Los Angeles Lakers over Houston Rockets in 5 games
